Directions from Richmond, VA (All Points North – Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD)

1. Going to or starting from Richmond, VA – get to or stay on I – 95 South.

2. Once past downtown Richmond on I – 95 South, you will eventually drive past South Park Mall (left side). A little further, you will pass the exit for I-85 South (right side).

NOTE: You will need to get in the “MIDDLE” lane of traffic…

3. Once past the I-85 exit, you need to move into the right lane of traffic and exit onto Route 460 East.

4. Once on the exit ramp – you will need to immediately move into the left lane to follow Route 460 East.

NOTE: Do not panic if you miss this exit…! Simply travel another 10 miles (I – 95 South) and exit Route 460 East – BUSINESS. That exit will take you to Route 460 East.

5. Once on Route 460 East you will travel about 45 minutes, before you make a “Right Turn” onto Route 258 South, in Windsor, VA. (Landmark – Dairy Queen on Right)

NOTE: Please be very careful & do not speed. This road is under strict State Police patrol.

6. Once on Route 258 South, you will travel about 20 minutes to a traffic light in an industrial park. At this intersection, stay straight “Over the Railroad Tracks”, which is now Route 258 – BUSINESS.

7. You will travel about 5 miles and exit onto Route 58 – West towards Franklin, VA.

8. You will travel about 5 miles and exit back on Route 258 South, towards Murfreesboro, NC.

9. You will travel 19 miles, and eventually come to a traffic light in Murfreesboro, NC. Stay straight at this intersection, still on Route 258 South.

10. You will travel about 3 miles and come to another traffic light. This is the intersection of Routes 158, 11, and 258. Stay straight at this intersection. You are now on Route 11 South, heading to Ahoskie.

11. You will travel about 9 miles and eventually come a Blinking Red Light & Stop Sign. Stay straight at this intersection. You are now heading “TO” Route 13 South.

12. You will come to a “T” and a stop sign. Make a “Right Turn” onto Route 13 South.

13. You are now entering Ahoskie:

a. 1st traffic light – Bojangle’s Restaurant (stay straight)

b. 2nd traffic light – Route 561 (stay straight)

c. 3rd traffic light – Hess Gas station and Old Ahoskie High School (stay straight)

d. 4th traffic light – “Left Turn” onto Church Street

14. You will come to a Stop Sign at the end of Church Street. You are now facing the Jernigan House Bed & Breakfast

15. Make a “Right Turn” onto Catherine Creek Road – Then an immediate “Left Turn” onto Garrett.

16. Pull into the parking lot behind the house, park your car, and come in the back entrance. If the door is locked, simply ring the doorbell and we will be right with you.

1. Exiting Raleigh Airport – Get on I – 40 East towards Raleigh, NC.

2. Once on I – 40 East, start to get in the right lane. After about 5 miles, you will approach a “Y” in the freeway – stay in the right lanes towards I-440. (This is towards the Outer Loop of Raleigh)

NOTE: “Do Not” go towards downtown on I-40…

3. After another 5 miles, past RBC Centura Coliseum, exit onto I-440 North.

4. After getting on I-440 North for about 30 miles, exit onto US-64 East, towards Rocky Mount, NC.

5. After getting on I-64 East for about 40 miles – you will eventually pass over I – 95, remain on I-64 East towards Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Princeville.

6. After another 25 miles, exit onto Route 42 East (Exit 494) for Ahoskie / Wilson, NC.

7. At the end of the exit ramp, make a “Left Turn” onto Route 42 East.

NOTE: Do not panic if it seems a little lonely…! You are driving through “rural” NC farmland. Enjoy the quiet and lack of traffic.

8. After 7.2 miles you will come to a Blinking Red Light & Stop Sign. Make a “Left Turn” onto 11 North / 42 East. (You will see a mileage marker for Ahoskie – 37 miles.)

9. After about 34.0 miles you will make a “Right Turn” (towards Ahoskie) to remain onRoute 42 East.

10. After 3.0 miles you will come to a traffic light at the intersection of Route 13 & 42. Remain straight at this intersection (Route 13 North) and immediately get into the right lane.

11. At the next traffic light make a “Right Turn” onto Church Street.

12. At the end of Church Street, you will come to a Stop Sign. You are now facing the Jernigan House Bed & Breakfast.

13. Make a “Right Turn” onto Catherine Creek Road – then an immediate “Left Turn” onto Garrett Street.

14. Pull into the parking lot behind the house, park your car, and come in the door on the back porch entrance. If the door is locked, simply ring the doorbell and we will be right with you.

1. You will exit the airport via a bridge to the first 1st (of 4) traffic lights heading towards I – 64 East.

2. Remain straight and move into the right lane for the next three (3) traffic lights.

3. At the fourth traffic, you will cross over Route 64 and exit (to the Right) onto I – 64 EAST.

4. After getting on I – 64 East you will travel for about 25 miles until you see signs for Routes 664/13/58 (towards Suffolk).

5. At this point you will be merging onto a 4 lane highway…Move to the right, into the “Center “lane.

6. You will exit onto Route 58 West / 13 South (Towards Suffolk).

7. Remain on Route 58 West / 13 South for another 20 miles. Take the exit for Ahoskie, NC to continue on Route 13 South.

PLEASE NOTE: Ignore the Route 58 / Route 13 BUSINESS exit towards Suffolk

8. Follow the signs to Ahoskie, NC to remain on Route 13 South. After about 5 miles you will see a sign for Ahoskie, NC, 42 Miles.

9. Remain on Route 13 South. This road will eventually take you right into Ahoskie.

NOTE: You will continue to see mileage markers for Ahoskie NC as you drive through “rural” VA/NC farmland. Enjoy the quiet and lack of traffic.

10. When getting close to Ahoskie, Route 13 South will force you to make a hard “Left Turn”. After you make the turn, you will see a mileage marker – Ahoskie – 3 miles.

11. You are now entering Ahoskie:

a. 1st traffic light – Bojangle’s Restaurant (stay straight)

b. 2nd traffic light – Route 561 (stay straight)

c. 3rd traffic light – Hess Gas station and Old Ahoskie High School (stay straight)

d. 4th traffic light – “Left Turn” onto Church Street

12. You will come to a Stop Sign at the end of Church Street. You are now facing the Jernigan House Bed & Breakfast

13. Make a “Right Turn” onto Catherine Creek Road – Then an immediate “Left Turn” onto Garrett.

14. Pull into the parking lot behind the house, park your car, and come in the back entrance. If the door is locked, simply ring the doorbell and we will be right with you.

1. Exit Greenville, NC Airport – Make a “Left Turn” onto Route 11 North.

2. Once on Route 11 North, you will travel through a series of traffic lights as you begin to leave Greenville.

3. After about 15 miles, you will cross over I – 64. Remain on Route 11 North.

NOTE: DO NOT TAKE Route 13 North – regardless of what Map Quest tells you…!!!

4. After another 10 miles, Route 11 will join up with Route 42 East. You will see a mileage marker for Ahoskie – 37 Miles.

5. After about 34.0 miles you will make a “Right Turn” (towards Ahoskie) to remain on Route 42 East.

6. After 3.0 miles you will come to a traffic light at the intersection of Route 13 & 42. Remain straight at this intersection – Route 13 North – and immediately get into the right lane.

7. At the next traffic light make a “Right Turn” onto Church Street.

8. At the end of Church Street, you will come to a Stop Sign. You are now facing the Jernigan House Bed & Breakfast.

9. Make a “Right Turn” onto Catherine Creek Road – then an immediate “Left Turn” onto Garrett Street.
